Michael Rivers is a London-born entrepreneur, renewable energy specialist, and passionate outdoor athlete based in Limassol, Cyprus.
Born in Hackney, East London, Michael returned to Cyprus in 2011, drawn by his deep family roots — his mother is Cypriot and was born in Pano Amiantos. With a strong background in solar technology and electrical systems, he is the Founding Partner and CTO of Heliosmac Solar Enterprises, where he focuses on advancing solar energy solutions, Bitcoin and related technologies in Cyprus.
Beyond his professional work in solar and tech, Michael is deeply committed to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. He is the creator and Race Director of the Cyprus Ultra Marathon, Cyprus’s first official international ultra-distance trail race, and the founder of the Limassol Running Club. An accomplished vegan ultra runner and marathon coach, he has guided many athletes from beginners to successful long-distance challenges.
Michael is also Cyprus’s only internationally certified inline skating instructor (ICP certified, trained in London). He founded the Limassol Skate School, where he has taught hundreds of adults and children the skills and confidence to enjoy rollerblading for fitness and recreation.
In addition, Michael pursues his passion for combat sports as a UK-trained Mixed Martial Artist and instructor in combative self-defence. He teaches at V1 Fitness in Limassol, delivering professional kickboxing, fitness boxing, and self-defence training with a focus on technique, safety, and personal development.
